A repository of cultural history, a landscape documents past civilizations and can be viewed as a specific type of heritage. UNESCO distinguishes three types of cultural landscape, of which a clearly defined landscape designed and created by man is the most easily identifiable. Such a landscape embraces gardens and parklands constructed for aesthetic reasons with monumental buildings and ensembles. Old maps, aerial photographs, and GIS technology enabled us to study historic land cover and to trace its changes up to the present. Designed landscapes are highly valuable, and their identification and protection is an important aspect of cultural monument...

The objective of the paper is to explore possibilities of evaluating the quality of a tourist destination by means of the principal components analysis (PCA) and the cluster analysis. In the paper both types of analysis are compared on the basis of the results they provide. The aim is to identify advantage and limits of both methods and provide methodological suggestion for their further use in the tourism research. The analyses is based on the primary data from the customers' satisfaction survey with the key quality factors of a destination. As output of the two statistical methods is creation of groups or cluster of quality factors that are similar...

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2016, 64(2), 683-689 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun201664020683
The paper is focused on modelling claim frequency and extends the work of Kafková and Křivánková, 2014 (Kafková, S., Křivánková, L. 2014. Generalized linear models in vehicle insurance. Acta universitatis agriculturae et silviculturae mendelianae brunensis, 62(2): 383-388). We showed that overdispersion, non-linear systematic component and interacted rating factors should be considered when the claim frequency is modelled. We detected overdispersion in the Poisson model and employed the negative-binomial model to show that considering heterogeneity over insurance policies yields better fit of the model. We also analysed the linear effect of...

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2016, 64(2), 691-700 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun201664020691
Agriculture is the backbone of Nigeria's socioeconomic development. This paper investigates the impact of agricultural exports on economic growth in Nigeria using OLS regression, Granger causality, Impulse Response Function and Variance Decomposition approaches. Both the OLS regression and Granger causality results support the hypothesis that agricultural exports-led economic growth in Nigeria. The results, however, show an inverse relationship between the agricultural degree of openness and economic growth in the country. Impulse Response Function results fluctuate and reveal an upward and downward shocks from agricultural export to economic growth...

As theory still lacks consistent definition of successful talent management, the praxis is characterized by dissimilar interpretations of the term talent. The lack of integrity of definitions appears to be the reason to analyse talent management practices. The article focuses on consistency of suggested practices in management of organisational strategies. The aim is to reveal current approach of Czech organisations towards talent management practices and to specify the main factors affecting employee development in talent management in the tested organisations. Bivariate and multivariate statistical methods and analyses were used to lower the number...
