People are becoming more conscious of the relationship between nutrition and health. Research has been conducted on the presence of anthocyanins in purple sweet potatoes, as this bioactive compound not only imparts the bright purple color to its flesh but also holds the potential for health benefits. Anthocyanins have activity as antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, and have the potential as phytoestrogens. This study aims to investigate the effect of processing methods on anthocyanin content in purple sweet potatoes. The material used consisted of purple sweet potatoes of the Biang variety. The chemicals employed for analysis distilled included water,...

The uniform distribution of chopped straw across the working width of the headers of 9-12 m posed a significant production challenge during grain harvesting in the conditions of the northern region of Kazakhstan. Research methods included theoretical and experimental studies. It was found that in order to increase the width and reduce the uneven spread of the chopped mass over the field, it is necessary to ensure that the initial speed of the chopped straw ejection is 63 m/s and the angle of inclination of the trajectory of the chopped mass to the horizon is about 15 degrees; and the ejection of the chopped mass should be carried out from the fourth...

Verification of the selective efficacyand effect of the applicationof the pre-emergence herbicide Stomp (Pendimethalin) on shoot growth in young ornamental woody plants using privet and European Bladdernut as an example

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2023, 71(6), 329-339 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun.2023.023

The research was carried out on newly planted bare-root plants at an early stage of their cultivation. The scope of the growth responses of woody plants was verified in relation to the recommended herbicide rate, namely for herbicide solution application rates of 0.825% and 1.025%. The new increment of the longest shoot and the mortality rate were evaluated. The selective efficacy on weeds was observed. Data collection took place at 2, 4, 8, 12 and 24 weeks after application. The experiment followed the manufacturer's recommendations for application. It was conducted on an experimental area of loamy sand soil in 2019 and it was not affected by extreme...

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2023, 71(6), 341-351 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun.2023.024

The basic requirements to design of hospital territories and selection of wood plants for their gardening are generalized. It was found that the existing normative indicators on landscaping do not take into account the needs of visitors and doctors and are limited to indicative indicator - the level of landscaping (not less than 55%). The hospital territory of Vyshhorod town, located not far the capital of Ukraine, was studied. The qualitative and quantitative indicators of tree plantations on the hospital territory are analyzed. It was found that little attention was paid to the design of the hospital territory, but there is potential to remedy the...
