The aim of the study was to determine the calcium requirements in preparation period of the sexual mature and egg-laying and evaluate development of calcium retention in the first laying period of the hybrid combination Bovans Brown hens. The experimental trial lasted from 14 to 30 weeks of hens age. The animals were fed ad libitum with a pelleted complete feed mixture with 42 g/kg of calcium content. The amount of calcium retained by pullets gradually increased along with feed intake depending on age and preparation for sexual maturity and was around 0.39 ± 0.19 g Ca in the first period. Ca retention increased up to an average of 0.85 g Ca...

The selection of plant varieties and the proper gamma dosage will affect germination and nutrient absorption. The goal studies were: (1) to obtain the salinity-tolerant red rice varieties and (2) to obtain the effect of varieties, gamma doses, and their interactions that could be improved the seedling characteristics and nutrient absorption in the vegetative phase of red rice plants under saline stress. The study was conducted at the greenhouse of Growth Center, LLDIKTI-1 Medan, from September until October 2020. This study used a Split Plot Design with the main plot of red rice varieties (V1 = MSP-17, V2 = Inpari-24 Gabusan, V3 = Pamera, V4 = Pamelen;...

Scars that occur in surgical wounds are still a health problem worldwide. Excessive scarring significantly affects the patientʹs quality of life, both physically and psychologically, and can also cause pain, pruritus, and contractures and cost a considerable amount of money. Therefore, it is essential to find dressings that improve a patient's prognosis. Topical therapy for treating scars is becoming popular because it is easy to use, convenient, non-invasive, and relatively inexpensive. However, no single therapy provides optimal results to eliminate hypertrophic scar formation. For most people in the world, herbs are easier to obtain because...

The experiment was conducted to evaluate variability estimates for yield contributing and nutritional traits in 60 tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) hybrids and their parents. The trial was laid out in alpha lattice design and data pertaining to 13 quantitative, six nutritional and four qualitative characters have been presented. The estimates of mean, range, phenotypic coefficient of variation (PCV) and genotypic coefficient of variation (GCV) revealed significant phenotypic and nutritional variations among the genotypes for most of the characters under study. The principal component analysis showed that number of marketable fruits, number of non-marketable...
