Monitoring the time of rumination and eating of dairy cows, by new technologies, is increasingly used in commercial herds. Evaluation of parameters obtained from Vitalimeter 5P, was performed in 656 dairy cows Czech Fleckvieh and Holstein cattle, including their crossbreeds. The aim of the study was evaluation the relationship between the impending calving, the occurrence of the diseases with a change in rumination, and eating time. On the day of birth, the rumination time decreased by 122.9 min. and eating by 11.35 min. compared to the normal state before calving. The decrease in rumination and eating on the day of calving was significantly (P <...

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2021, 69(5), 563-568 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun.2021.050
The aim of the experiment was to evaluate the effect of Duroc, Pietrain and Duroc x Pietrain terminal boars on individual live weight of piglets and average daily gain of piglets from birth to weaning. The effect of sex was also taken into account in the observation. A total of 306 piglets were evaluated. The experiment proved, that terminal boar significantly affects (p < 0.001) birth weight of piglets, their live weight at the age of 14 days and at weaning. Statistically significant effect of terminal boar was also proved for average daily gain from birth to the age of 14 days and average daily gain from birth to weaning. As demonstrated, the...

Toxic effect of Origanum vulgare subsp. hirtum (Link) Ietsw. essential oil was assayed on weeds (Lolium perenne L. Trifolium pratense L. and Trifolium repens L.), potato plants (Solanum tuberosum L.) and Myzus persicae Sulz. The GC-MS analysis of the essential oil revealed carvacrol as the main component. The essential oil solutions completely inhibited the seed germination of the target weeds at concentration 2 μL/mL in Petri dishes. In contrast, in soil, this effect was achieved at a concentration of 5 µL/mL for studied dicot and at 10 µL/mL for the monocot species. Total destruction of target weeds at post-emergence stage after spraying...
What Factors Increase the Impact of the SAO's Audit Activity and the Amount of Audited Expenditures Within the Mandate of the SAI?

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2021, 69(5), 579-594 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun.2021.052
This study within the Czech Supreme Audit Office found that a relatively greater media impact had audits of the Czech Supreme Audit Office in which a criminal notification was filed. It was further found that notifications to the tax authorities were relatively more frequent for audits that focused on a longer period of time and that proportion of audit reports referring to Act No. 563/1991 Coll., Act on Accounting, is decreasing. The analysis of the Czech Supreme Audit Office also revealed that the audits for which the government imposed a remedial measure were not more expensive than those for which no government remedies were imposed. The author...

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2021, 69(5), 595-603 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun.2021.053
The aim of this article is to assess the accuracy of estimates of geometric and shape parameters in cross-sections of natural mountain torrents using the equations of regional downstream hydraulic geometry. Equations of regional hydraulic geometry were derived for 19 natural torrents of the Western Tatras in the geomorphological unit of the Tatras. The equations for the relations between the watershed area AW (km2) and the bankfull channel width inside the banks Bbf (m), channel depth Hbf (m), channel cross-section area Abf (m2) and shape characteristics of the cross-section Bbf...
