Ákos Bede-Fazekas, Imelda Somodi

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2015, 63(5), 1453-1458 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun201563051453

Stylization is a common method of ornamental plant use that imitates nature and evokes the scenery. This paper discloses a not yet proposed aspect of stylization, since the method offers the possibility of preserving the physiognomy of those habitats that seem to vanish due to future climate change. In addition, novelty of the method is founded also on that vulnerability of the Hungarian habitats has been examined by the researchers only from the botanical and ecological point of view so far and not in terms of its landscape design value. In Hungary, acidofrequent mixed forests appear to be highly sensitive to climate change according to ecological...

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2015, 63(5), 1565-1574 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun201563051565

Mainly abiotic factors have been considered in examining soil fauna invasion or settlement. The role of soil animals communities was not considered. Our hypothesis, indeed, can be formulated: the structure and feeding habits of the soil animals community is not able to play some role in the soil rating. Localities, however, can be fragmented into microhabitats. We studied cultivated field and adjacent unploughed areas (so-called baulks), using the common Berlese-Tullgren apparatus for community structure studies followed by histological tests of food consumed by community members. We selected a group of oribatid mites, which are frequent and abundant....

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2015, 63(5), 1739-1748 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun201563051739

The world trade is a dynamically changing in the long term horizon, its total value as well as share in the global economy are continuously growing. Despite the growth in agricultural trade, the gaps among various groups of countries and regions are becoming deeper. More and more countries loose its self-sufficiency or its netto export status and become dependent on imports. On the other hand, there exists another limited group of countries controlling most of the world exports. The aim of the article is to identify differences in changing values of agricultural trade among selected groups of countries. An accent is given primarily on an identification...

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2015, 63(5), 1749-1767 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun201563051749

The main objective of this paper is to create scenarios of possible development of social policy in the Czech Republic and evaluate the probability of each scenario. Based on the literature review and scenario method, three scenarios are created (scenario of a positive development, scenario of a negative development, and explorative scenario), which are compared with the current state of Czech social policy and which evaluate the possible development of Czech social policy in the period up to 2050. For the implementation of scenarios, basic factors that influence the development of Czech social policy are identified. The complementary research methods...

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2015, 63(5), 1769-1777 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun201563051769

The article introduces activities of local action groups (LAGs) in the Czech Republic. Attention is focused on the history of LAGs, evaluation of LAGs' activities in the 2007-2013 period and preparation for the 2014-2020 period. Although this period has already started, drawing on subsidies is still lagging behind. Evaluation of LAGs is based on a questionnaire survey among LAGs, information on grants from "Axis 4 - Leader" of Rural Development Programme for the period 2007-2013, content analysis of several Strategies of Community Led Local Development prepared for the current programming period and experience from the creation of several Strategies....

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2015, 63(5), 1779-1785 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun201563051779

Creative accounting is a 21st century phenomenon and in the context of the economic crisis and deficit budget it has been receiving increasing attention, in particular in the area of prevention and detection of accounting manipulation. The focus of the research on small and micro-enterprises stems from little attention paid to these enterprises and the undeniable importance of small and micro-enterprises for the economy. Primary research is based on the examination of a phenomenological paradigm, i.e. it focuses on understanding human behaviour on the basis of a reference framework for research participants. The main research method used...

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2015, 63(5), 1789-1801 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun201563051789

We examined currently available empirical growth models which could be potentially applicable to coppice growth and production modelling. We compiled a summary of empirical models applied in coppices, high forests and fast-growing tree plantations, including coppice plantations. The collected growth models were analysed in order to find out whether they encompassed any of 13 key dendrometric and structural variables that we found as characteristic for coppices. There is no currently available complex growth model for coppices in Europe. Furthermore, many aspects of coppice growth process have been totally ignored or omitted in the most common modelling...
