This contribution presents results obtained by means of a time series analysis of import, export, turnover, balance of trade, coverage indicator of export with import, according to SITC classes (3rd Rev.) in the Czech Republic for time interval 1993-2001. Along with description of dynamics of examined effects and their trends there following parameters were also classified: mean level, variability and percentage share of particular classification classes of foreign trade indicators.

The paper analyses the pay system in a particular enterprise in the Czech Republic and proposes a change in this system. The establishment of two scales based on pay classes per month is proposed: one scale that allows for overlaps of pay classes but does not allow for overruns into other categories, and another scale that allows for no overlaps at all.The proposal of the modified pay system, which is brought forward in this paper, eliminates pay overruns into more distant classes. The article is focused on the analysis of impact of the final consumer for milk on the price development on the fluid milk processing market. Kernel smoothers belong to the most popular nonparametric functional estimates. They provide a simple way of finding structure in data. Kernel smoothing can be very well applied on the regression model. In the context of kernel estimates of a regression function, the choice of a kernel from the different points o view can be investigated. The main idea of this paper is to present construction of the optimal kernel and edge optimal kernel by means of the Gegenbauer and Legendre polynomial.

The paper concentrates on capability of genetic algorithms for parameter estimation of non-linear economic models. In the last decade a new financial product - bankinsurance - became very popular on international financial markets. The cooperation between banks and insurance companies is based on the goal to achieve financial synergic effects and to make complex supply of financial services "under one roof". The aim of this article is to clarify possible positive and negative impacts of this form of cooperation. These impacts are shown on the fusion of Allianz and Dresdner Bank. Through this fusion arised the biggest company in the field of bankinsurance. Nowadays there are connected many problems with this fusion.

Efficient allocation of land between competing uses deserves attention, due both to market failure and government intervention failures. In order to devise efficient agro-environmental programs for the management of landscape amenities, it is important to understand individual's preferences. The paper describes the importance of brands used by producers for identification of their products (differentiation from other products) for consumers. It focuses on retail brands as a factor, which can play an important role in the buyer behaviour in the future. This paper deals with technical analysis and its forecasting ability in the intradaily foreign exchange market. The objective of this study is to investigate whether technical indicators are able to provide prediction superior to "buy and hold" strategy. Each indicator is tested with series of parameters in time series of different frequency (5, 15, 30, 60 min). The profitability of each indicator is examined in simple trading modell.

Kernel smoothing provides a simple way for finding structure in data. The idea of the kernel smoothing can be applied to a simple fixed design regression model and a random design regression model. This article is focused on kernel smoothing for fixed design regression model with using special type of estimator, the Gasser-Müller estimator, and on choice of the bandwidth. At the end of this article figures for ilustration described methods on two data sets are shown. The first data set contains simulated values of function sin(2πx), the second contains January average temperatures measured in Basel 1755-1855.
