Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2006, 54(1), 7-14 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun200654010007
In the region of Rýchory (KRNAP - the Krkonoše National Park), effects of roe deer and red deer browsing on the condition and development and natural and artificial regeneration of stands was studied in 2003-2004. Winter and summer browsing were observed in 14 couples of plots (always one with mechanical protection, the second without the protection) and in one control couple in a wintering preserve for red deer. In both years, winter browsing predominated in the region and thus, it is possible to suppose that roe deer was the main browser. As for natural regeneration, silver fir (26% in winter 2003), rowan (36% in winter 2003) and sycamore maple (26%...

The rheological parameters of 5 edible vegetable oils have been determined. In particular: rapeseed oil, corn oil, sunflower oil, olive oil and pumpkin oil. The oils exhibited Newtonian behaviour above about 10 s-1. The lower rates of shear demonstreated non-Newtonian behaviour. The analysed oils were found to be, in accordance with predictions, time-independent. The flow curves of all tested oils have been plotted and fitted in satisfying agreement with simple mathematical model. Received data have been used for numerical simulation of inlet effect in laminar flow between two parallel plates. The simulation of velocities and fluid pressure...

Surface treatment of zinc galvanized steel is carried out usually using chromate based baths. These baths are used for improvement of the corrosion resistance and enhancement of the chemical adhesion of organic coatings. Anticorrosive effects of the chromium conversion coatings were not completely exceeded yet by another kind of passivation. Toxicity of CrVI is a basic problem of chromate conversion coats. This paper presents the main results and conclusions of experimental study on zinc conversion layers based on vanadates, using a good CrVI bath as reference. Anticorrosive mechanisms were compared by the corrosion tests in saline...
