Agricultural production presents one of the biggest producers of greenhouse gases. Between the most significant belongs carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), ozon (O3) and hydrogen sulphide (H2S). The work deals with classification of quantity by liberate emissions in relation to different variants of fertilization by cultivation of horticultural crops (head cabbage). For the metering was exploited gas analyzer INNOVA 1312. The results demonstrate significant difference between experimental variants by quantity of liberate emission, but also in the height of production.

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2006, 54(4), 21-32 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun200654040021
The results of the previous studies have suggested that the estimated RG values are loaded with an error, which might compromise the precision of the subsequent crop model applications. Therefore a detailed analysis of the error propagation was made using two crop models i.e. CERES-Barley and CERES-Wheat. Database of meteorological data originating from 8 stations in Austria and Czech Republic was used in order to carry out the analysis. It has been found that even application of the method based on sunshine duration that yield the lowest bias in RG estimates significantly influences number of key crop model outputs. It has been...

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2006, 54(4), 33-38 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun200654040033
The aim of this contribution is to be able to used triticale in distilling industry. Four triticale varieties were grown during 2003-2005. Trials were situated in four different locations of the Czech Republic - Staňkov, Hradec nad Svitavou Krásné údolí and Libějovice. There were used varieties Kolor, Presto, Modus and Disko. The alcoholic yield, protein content and starch content were determined. The technical enzymes Termamyl SC and SAN Extra L. were used into laboratory fermenting tests for saccharification starch. Reached alcoholic yields move between 37-46 la. The highest alcoholic yield (average three years and four locations) was estimated by...

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2006, 54(4), 39-44 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun200654040039
Biological efficacy of strobilurines (trifloxystrobin and kresoxim-methyl) was evaluated to compare the effect of late treatments of apples against post-harvest diseases with the effect of widely used reference products (captan, tolylfluanid, dithianone, dodine). One treatment 3-4 weeks before the harvest was applied (1000 l/ha water). Tested and reference products were used in doses authorised in the Czech Republic against the apple scab (Venturia inaequalis). Strobilurines effectiveness overcame all the products compared and showed an effect on reduction of weight decrease during the storage. In total 8 field tests were performed in 2000-2004...

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2006, 54(4), 45-52 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun200654040045
Assesment of soil organic matter quality is one of the urgent problems of contemporary agriculture. Determination of humic acids (HAs) optical properties using spectroscopic techniques could be a reliable step for this evaluation. We followed differences in the functional groups of HAs preparations and showed correlation between optical indexes and fractional composition of humus. UV-VIS and SFS spectral lines and indexes were measured in mixture 0.1M pyrophosphate sodium solution and 0,1M NaOH, after filtration and appropriate dilution. Differences in the structural composition of HAs originating from different soil types were studied after isolation...

The aim of our work was to observe the possibility of application of near-infrared spectroscopy for monitoring of internal changes in stored apples inficated by Gloeosporium album (Osterw) [Pezicula malicorticis (H. S. Jackson)]. The cultivars Idared and Golden Delicious Reinders were used in this work. Two groups of infected and non-infected apples of both cultivars each containing twenty pieces and stored in cold-storage room (± 3 °C) were observed for seven weeks. The apples were measured in reflectance mode with resolution 8 and number of scans 100. Each fruit was analysed 4 times and the average spectrum was used for evaluation....

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2006, 54(4), 75-80 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun200654040075
Qualitative and quantitative composition of macrozoobenthos was studied on the Moravice river (six sites) and Bělokamenný potok brook (one site). Altogether, 64 and 29 taxa of water macroinvertebrates were determined in the Moravice river and Bělokamenný potok brook respectively. Saprobic index on the majority of monitored localities corresponded to oligosaprobity. On the sites 2 and 3 (downstream of the small town of Břidličná), the saprobic index showed β-mesosaprobity. The values of macrozoobenthos density and biomass ranged between 317-605 ind.m-2 and 4.1-6.5 g.m-2 respectively.

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2006, 54(4), 91-98 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun200654040091
The effect of three different doses of basic fertilisers and a subsequent pre-sowing supplementary fertilisation on production parameters (yield of grain, number of spikes, and thousand grains weight) was evaluated using experimental data obtained within the framework of a one-year pot experiment with spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) established at the Department of Agrochemistry and Plant Nutrition, Faculty of Agronomy, Mendel University of Agriculture and Forestry Brno in 2003. Results of statistical analysis indicated that the yield of grain was significantly influenced by different doses of fertilisers especially on sandy soils. As compared...

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2006, 54(4), 99-110 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun200654040099
Within the project of small-plot field trials we cultivated 10 varieties of winter wheat in 5 different trial stations of the Central Institute for Supervising and Testing in Agriculture in years 2001-2002. The yields achieved were assessed and the miller's quality of the grain was defined. Wheat variety Contra reached the highest yields (10.226 t.ha-1) and Niagara wheat variety reached the lowest yields (8.516 t.ha-1) where the yields were conclusively lower (LSD, 95%) compared with the group C varieties. Apache and Ebi varieties achieved the most stable yields; the least plastic variety was Banquet. We marked high variability...

When processing the boar semen, the dilution ration and numbers of AI doses were recorded. Compared were two preparations: in case of Preparation 1 the number of evaluated ejaculates was 1,037 while in case of Preparation 2 altogether 1,109 ejaculates were evaluated. Boars receiving diets with Preparation...

The aim of the study was to determine the dynamics in the content of organic nutrients, ash and energy in dry matter of growths within the Mohelenská Serpentine Steppe National Nature Reserve (NPR), and to document their initial nutritive value before the intended grazing. Plant samples in 1995 and 1996 during the growing season in 14-days intervals from the area of 3 × 1 m2. Amounts of dry matter, fibre, nitrogen substances, fat and ashes were determined in growths according to the ANONYM (2001). Nitrogen-free extract substances (BNLV) were determined by final calculating; BE, ME, NEL, NEV, PDIN and PDIE were calculated using the regression...

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2006, 54(4), 133-138 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun200654040133
Red clover is the most important forage legume in the Czech Republic. It is an unassuming species to climatic and soil condition, is suitable for mixtures with grasses and it is above other grassland species in forage quality. The most serious problem of red clover in grasslands is its lack of persistency (2-4 years). Considering of red clover growing area on arable land decrease and area of permanent grasslands increases, becomes persistency of varieties important attribute. The persistency of all Czech varieties was evaluated on the basis of dominance proportion investigation after 3 winters. Assessed varieties were established in mixture with grasses...
