The paper was aimed on reforming on damage to soil caused by passage of universal wheeled tractors and forest wheeled tractors. We focused mainly on determining the changes in CO2 content in soil after its compaction in comparison with unimpaired soil from the stand. We carried out the measurements in municipal forests of Stará Turá, in four stands, where a regeneration felling was done. We acquired data on the depth of ruts through the method of transversal profiles took samples of soil from the ruts and unimpaired stand to determine the bulk density and moisture content. We determined the content of CO2 in stand and ruts with...

This study analysed the preferences of perch size and position in the aviary in a group of 6 lorikeets (Loriculus galgulus). We monitored the presence of the lorikeets in four different locations in the aviary - on the original perches, floor, wire mesh and experimental perches. The perch preferences were tested using 3 identical experimental perches, each of which consisted of 5 segments differing in diameter - ø 1 cm (circumference = 3.14 cm), ø 2 cm (circumference = 6.28 cm), ø 3 cm (circumference = 9.42 cm), ø 4 cm (circumference = 12.56 cm) and ø 5 cm (circumference = 15.7 cm). The distance between the...

Mojmír Baroň

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2014, 62(1), 23-29 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun201462010023

The issue of preventing the re-fermentation and protection against undesirable malolactic fermentation (MLF) in order to safe content of acids in wine is very complicated. In this paper the saturated higher fatty acids (HFA) - C8, C10 and C12, dimethyldicarbonate (DMDC) and sulphur dioxide (SO2) were tested. The re-fermentation test showed the strongest inhibition power at ratio 2:8, 1:9 and 0:10 as C8:C10 acids - 65 days without re-fermentation. MLF experiments confirmed that addition of SO2 into the fermenting media causes rapid inhibition of lactic acid bacteria metabolic...

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2014, 62(1), 31-37 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun201462010031

This study deals with analysis structure of cost on the production of asparagus in relation to three different technological processes in conditions of Slovak Republic. Obtained results can be used as a template to prepare budgets and make production decisions to estimate potential returns and to analyze investment and financial analysis decisions in the asparagus cultivation. Production practices used in the budget are based on typical practices for asparagus in this country. From the analysis of the cost structure of assessed variants different technological procedures follows that the largest share of the costs fall to purchased material and labor.

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2014, 62(1), 53-64 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun201462010053

The work is focused on verification of quality adhesion of zinc coating. It describes elements which affect quality and adhesive solidity within the coating. For assessment itself it will be neccessary to get know the basic elements which can affect adhesion of hot-dip coating which will be essential for choosing suitable samples for verification itself. These elements characterise acoustic responses during delamination coating. They affect elements influencing progress of signal. In research there is also a summary of existing methods for testing adhesion of coatings. As a result a new proposal of a new method comes out for purpose of quality testing...

Petr Dostál, Pascal Communeau

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2014, 62(1), 65-69 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun201462010065

The article deals with the application of chosen quality tools for visualisation of acoustic signals from corrosion process. For continuous monitoring of corrosion the acoustic emission (AE) is used. This is one of the non-destructive testing methods. Using this method it is possible to receive signals and perform basic analysis. For a thorough prediction of process conditions or degradation is necessary to combine this method with other analyzes in the field of statistics, especially quality tools. For these purposes, the control charts are used in this work. Effective prediction of corrosion status of the material is very important with regard to...

Acoustic emission is a part of the non-destructive methods and it is especially used for to monitor and detection defects of material on construction sites and industrial process. In the last time the acoustic emission was tested for very special objects such as to monitor of growth of plants or behaviour of insects. The mission this work was to apply a new experiment on the behaviour of colonies by means of acoustic emission, which it allows to capture waves and vibrations spreading in the material. Vibrations are one...

In a one-year vegetation pot experiment we compared the effect of the digestate from a biogas plant and mineral fertilisers on yield and quality parameters of kohlrabi, variety Moravia. Four treatments were used in the trial: 1) untreated control, 2) urea, 3) digestate, 4) urea, triple super phosphate, KCl, MgSO4. The rate of N was the same in treatments 2-4, i.e. 1.5 g N/pot. In treatment 4 the rate of P, K and Mg corresponded with the rate of these nutrients in the digestate treatment (3).The inhibited growth of kohlrabi after the application of NPKMg (4) was obviously the consequence of early planting after the application of fertilisers...

Petr Valášek, Miroslav Müller

Acta Univ. Agric. Silvic. Mendelianae Brun. 2014, 62(1), 261-266 | DOI: 10.11118/actaun201462010261

A paper focuses on a description of two-body and three-body abrasion wear of polymeric particle composites with fillers on a basis of machining splinters from hardfacing alloys. The abrasive wear is typical for functional surfaces of agricultural machines processing the soil. One of possibilities of the functional surface renovation is an application of resistant layers in a form of composite systems. Just the inclusion of hard inorganic particles into a polymeric matrix significantly increases its wear resistance. So long as the primary filler is replaced by the waste - by particles from the material machining - the matrix in which the filler is dispersed...
