Konfrontace závěrů neoklasické teorie růstu a nové teorie růstu a alternativní vysvětlení rozdílů v ekonomické výkonnosti

Cílem příspěvku bylo provést kritickou diskusi závěrů dvou růstových přístupů dominujících v rámci soudobé ekonomické teorie: neoklasické teorie růstu a nové teorie růstu (teorie endogenního růstu). Rozsah charakteristik obou těchto růstových přístupů je omezen, resp. přizpůsoben hlavnímu smyslu tohoto příspěvku - kvalitativnímu hodnocení závěrů alternativních přístupů teorie růstu. Stěžejní, třetí část textu diskutuje relevantnost závěrů obou dominantních přístupů soudobé teorie růstu z pohledu autora tohoto příspěvku. Předložené argumenty jsou následně zobecněny ve formě závěrů: odmítnutí konceptu rostoucích výnosů z rozsahu nové teorie růstu, zpochybnění implicitního předpokladu tradičních růstových přístupů, že se ekonomiky pohybují na svých produkčních funkcích, a vyzdvihnutí významu institucionálního prostředí pro ekonomickou dynamiku.

Discussion on the conclusions of the Neoclassical Growth Theory and the New Growth Theory and the alternative explanation for the different economic performance

The paper in the first instatnce resumes the conclusions of the most important contemporary growth approaches - the Neoclassical Growth Theory and the New Growth Theory. In the third part there are discused crucial aspects of the both growth approaches and are mentioned some empirical arguments. The final part of this paper presents three conclusions: the challenge to validity of the New Growth Theory. The question about the basic traditional growth theory assumption that individual economies occur the production possibility frontier. And finally the conviction that the necessary condition for the succesful economic development is the right institutional system.
