At present, researchers pay attention to skewed censored distributions more frequently. This paper deals with statistical inference of type I multiply left-censored Weibull and exponential distributions. It suggests a computational procedure for calculation of maximum likelihood estimates of the parameters. The expected Fisher information matrix for estimation of variances of estimated parameters is introduced. The estimates are then used for construction of confidence intervals for the expectation using the maximum likelihood method. Asymptotic tests for comparison of distributions (expectations respectively) of two independent left-censored Weibull samples are proposed. Furthermore, asymptotic tests for assessing suitability of reduction of the Weibull distribution to the exponential distribution are introduced. Finally, the left-censored exponential distribution is briefly described. Methods derived in this paper are illustrated on elemental carbon measurements, and can be applied in analysis of real environmental and/or chemical data. Over the past 30 years, there have been conducted studies by economists about the connection between education and economic growth. There are actually many publications which provide strong evidence that suggests a correlation between the two. This paper attempts to build upon previous publications and to introduce a unique insight along with contemporary evidence about the relationship between education and economic growth in India from 1975 to 2016 by foc using on primary, secondary and tertiary levels of education. The relationships are examined by utilization of econometric estimations with the Granger Causality Method and the Cointegration Method. These methods are used to create models that could shed light on the claim that education plays a central and significant role in economic growth of India which could consequently be used as an example for similar countries in Asia or around the world. The findings of this work show that there is compelling evidence proving a positive connection between education levels and economic growth in India which might influence governmental actions and shape the future of India. An investigated object is a data base of accounting reports of 5 countries in the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic, Poland, Hungary and Russia over the period of 2011-2013. The number of selected companies is 619. a hypothesis of the research: there is significant correlation between salary and labor productivity in milk processing industry. Difference between Visegrad group and Russia is tested with Kolmogorov-Smirnov test at significance level of 0.05. Representativity of data is checked by Chi-Square test. Relationship between workforce productivity and salary is made by Spearman's rank correlation. In Visegrad group, relationship between workforce productivity and salary are presented by volume of coefficient 0.7189. Russian companies have coefficient 0.1208. Generally speaking, there is sufficiently great dependence between salary and labor productivity in Visegrad group and there is no dependence in Russia. a worker can see no dependence between high salary and high productivity in Russia that is The possible reason of low correlation between salary and labor productivity. This fact suggests methodology to control efficiency of labor workforce. The methodology is based on coefficients, given to each employee, in order to estimate his productivity and compare it with other employees or compare companies between each other. In particular, it is unresolved how tips depend on service quality, patronage frequency, and group sizes, why people tip more for better service if they do, and why they tip at all when they can avoid it. This study aims to fill this gap. It uses survey data to explore what motivates Czech restaurant customers to tip. Reasons for tipping, factors constituting service quality, and reasons for tipping more for better service are explored by descriptive statistics. The impact of service quality, group size, and patronage frequency on tips is assessed by random effects estimator and simple policy capturing. The results show that Czech customers tip mostly because of gratitude, to follow the social norm, and to avoid feeling guilty when not tipping. Most Czechs do not tip to supplement waiters' wages. Their tips are strongly influenced by service quality, which includes the whole experience of a dinner in a restaurant and not only the waiter's performance. They reward a good service because it is fair, out of gratitude, and to motivate the waiters to provide good service in the future, but not because it is prescribed by social norms. On the other hand, there is little evidence that their tips depend on patronage frequency or group size. The development of the mergers is characterized by the fact that it is a multidisciplinary areas (tax, accounting and legal), in practice the most widespread method is Mergers through consolidation. The analysis is therefore focused just on this type of merger. It examines the development of mergers carried out in the Czech Republic as well as globally. In the global perspective,is processed the number of mergers and acquisitions, and the trends in company transformations are monitored. For the Czech Republic is analyzed the number of mergers, number of merging companies, including their legal form, the number of registered mergers by individual Regional Courts, the date of entries, determination of the appointed date of merger and date of completion of merger project. Consequently are presented features typical of the implementation of national mergers. The paper also examines the relationship between the number of mergers and GDP and PX index from 2002 to 2016. Hence, the associations between the LEADER programme and rural differentiation in the Czech Republic are explored. The results of this study point out that highly rural and disadvantaged LAGs were supported significantly more often, while LAGs with strong urban characteristics and growing suburban LAGs were supported significantly less often in the LEADER programme. Two crucial dimensions of rural differentiation in the Czech Republic were tackled by LEADER, namely rural aspects and socioeconomic disadvantages. This study consequently shows that LAGs may be a highly relevant place-based instrument that compensates for urban-rural gradient and socioeconomic disadvantages of rural areas. The aim of this article is to propose indicators of social performance in the context of corporate sustainability. Relevance of the proposal has been verified through a questionnaire that focused on large manufacturing companies in the Czech Republic. Using statistical methods, it was found that a basic set of sixteen indicators can be replaced by six key performance indicators - Percentage of employees covered by collective agreement, Wage discrimination, Occupational diseases, Violations of ethical code, Expenditures on identifying and ensuring customer satisfaction and Percentage of products and services assessed for their influence on health and safety of customers. These results aim to contribute to both academy and corporate practitioners, who want to improve corporate social performance and through the use of key performance indicators to support transparency and sustainability of their business. This study, however, has some limitations. The key performance indicators are designed specifically for large manufacturing companies of group 27.1 CZ-NACE. Based on the statistical sample containing detail data of 115 transformations, we analysed important aspects of company transformations (M&A) such as ownership structure of the participating companies, deployment of the effective date, acquisition date, balance-sheet date, date of registration and transformation project date, utilization of available forms of company transformations, utilization of financial statements for transformation purposes and incidence of fair-value revaluation. The results of the research shows, that majority of company transformations are in fact corporate holdings reorganisations rather than business combinations as defined by IFRS 3 and it also suggests that the rules for accounting for these transactions are in fact misused for distribution of earnings (even unrealized earnings) through the corporate holdings. We have also identified cases of severe distortion of faithful representation of successor's company financial position, most often as a result of retrospective company transformations, where the effective day of the merger was put before the date of acquisition of the majority on target's equity. The main goal of the study is to explore generation Y perceptions and expectations of food quality labels in the Czech Republic and Poland. The data were collected through an online survey from 372 respondents, involving 221 of Czechs and 151 of Poles. The statistical analysis procedures including descriptive statistics, Chi-square test and Mann-Whitney U test were performed to discover whether significant differences do exist between Czech and Polish consumer attitudes to the topic. Findings show that the number of food quality labels is perceived as strongly high and confusing, it is evident mainly in the Czech Republic. Impact of quality labels on food purchases is therefore limited and the labels benefits are not understood in full range. Statistically significant differences were confirmed between attitudes of Czechs and Poles to the food products characteristics that should be guaranteed by quality labels. Futher, Czech and Polish respondents differ in their opinion on the fee for the certification and credible administrator of the labels.
