Abstract: This paper addresses the link between lack of rural development and migration flows and investigates whether weak agricultural development and poor governance indicators can be explaining factors for migration. The African continent offers a mixed picture with both positive developments and challenges ahead. With regards to its agricultural sector, Africa still has many challenges to face. Lack of quality infrastructures, widespread poverty, environmental degradation and human capital issues have to be addressed if the continent is to rise up from its current situation. As regards migration, the paper was unable to establish a clear correlation between weak development indicators and effective migration flows. Further data needs to be collected in order to establish a more comprehensive analysis. Nevertheless the paper recommends the creation of a comprehensive strategy strengthening the international governance of agricultural policies in Africa. However, the build-up models are usually general models to appraise business and financial risks, and thus cannot fully mirror the special characteristics of different industries. The article presents a new model called 'Mining Build-up Model' to assess the risks of mining companies. The model has four modules of risks (A - Business risks, B - Financial risks, C - Mining risks, and D - Module of a mining company), altogether roofing 12 areas of different risks. To demonstrate its usefulness, the Mining Build-up Model was applied on a mining company called OKD, a.s. - a member of the mining group New World Resources (NWR) in the Czech Republic. For the different areas of risks, we quantified the components of risk, which became the starting points to determine the final risk premium. The quantification of the components of risks relies on expert evaluations of the degree of risk of the different components of risk in the risk modules. The weighs of the components of risks were determined using Saaty's method (the Analytic Hierarchy Process - AHP). We found that in OKD, a. s. - a member of the mining group NWR - the risk premium of cost of equity reached the value of 12.52 % in 2013. As we worked with the risk-free rate of return at a value of 2.83 %, the cost of equity for OKD, a. s. - a member of the mining group NWR, amounted to 15.35 %. The weighted average cost of capital of NWR Plc was calculated as 12.34 %. A single symbol/sign incorporates the total value of the brand which represents an important competitive tool as well as the brand's ability to cope with changes in the environment. Based on findings from the theory and with the help of an experimental investigation, a coherent model was put together which interconnects the unique chain of brand relationships and expresses the brand development from its beginning up to the top level, i.e. a brand with a unique identification. Brand is influenced not only by the quality of the basic brand setting, e.g. individual component of the level of the state, but also performance of the brand in time, e.g. individual components of the dynamical level. Then the result of specific actions influences also the primary setting. The basic presumption of effective brand management it thus based not only on continuous following of changes in the framework of the subsystem, but also on fundamental interconnections between individual subsystems. This paper has an interdisciplinary character and through the brand model it presents ways to create a strong brand which has a unique distinctive character in the perception process, which can be identified not only by the target group of consumers, but also by its competitors, and the awareness of which exceeds the outlined segment throughout the market. The aim of this paper is twofold; first to investigate the leverage effect of the main agricultural commodities - wheat and corn, i. e. the relationship between monetary returns and the volatility of commodity prices and, secondly to capture their stochastic volatility by forming an appropriate model. The data are considered as 'post-crisis' data. That means the period after the biggest shock to the world economy. Thus, the Constant Elasticity of Variance (CEV) model is used calibrated to the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM). The paper is briefly based on the research of Geman and Shih (2009), who propose an extension in capturing the leverege effect in the commodity market.Their results show a positive relationship between commodity price returns and the volatility in both the corn and wheat derivative market. According to these results, corn futures prices are characterized significantly under the CEV model. On the other side in the wheat futures market exists a driftless condition by using stochastic volatility models. The results compare consumer attention to different levels of shelves. A different space solution - the SpaceGrid II system - was also used in the chosen bays. In these bays, the data indicate a distinct increase of consumer attention. The data were obtained through the eye-tracking device SMI RED 250 (n = 22). Particular attention was given to consumer perception by analysing AOI (areas of interest). The research was carried out during September 2015 in the Eye-Tracking Laboratory at Mendel University in Brno. The objective of the research was to identify attention in different levels of shelves and differences in perception between two types of shelves (classic and SpaceGrid). The results imply that the shelf level significantly influences the variability of attention of all product categories except for vegetables. The influence of the type of shelves was proven for meat and fish. The article also offers detailed information about the behaviour of participants who were surveyed in the framework of in depth interviews. HMM) for estimation of Value at Risk metrics (abbrev. VaR) in sample. For the illustration we use data of the company listed on Prague Stock Exchange in range from January 2011 to June 2016. HMM approach allows us to classify time series into different states based on their development characteristic. Due to a deeper shortage of existing domestic results or comparison studies with advanced volatility governed VaR forecasts we tested HMM with univariate ARMA-GARCH model based VaR estimates. The common testing via Kupiec and Christoffersen procedures offer generalization that HMM model performs better that volatility based VaR estimation technique in terms of accuracy, even with the simpler HMM with normal-mixture distribution against previously used GARCH with many types of non-normal innovations. A quantitative methodology was adopted. Data were collected from 113 employees from fifteen family businesses located in the Western Province in Sri Lanka. Correlation and ordinal logistic regression analysis were used to elaborate the relationships. Correlation analysis indicated that both family involvement and employee engagement correlate to employee performance. Family involvement in case of holding positions in functional and strategic levels by family members has shown no correlation to employee performance. Yet, having a family member as immediate boss/supervisor of an employee in the job has a strong correlation to employee performance. Regression analysis makes evident that almost all coefficients of the employee are negatively related to employee performance. Yet, all levels of employee engagement are significantly related to employee performance. It further shows that being the lower levels of employee engagement increases the likelihood of lower levels of employee performance. Abstract: The study examines the impacts of urbanization, energy consumption and real GDP on atmospheric pollution from automobile transport in Azerbaijan in the STIRPAT framework. Since the study uses time series variables the unit root properties of employed variables are tested for non-stationarity. Stationarity of the data is tested using conventional Augmented Dickey-Fuller test. The study employs Autoregressive Distributed Lags Bounds Testing (ARDLBT) approach to co-integration. This method is one of the most preferable approaches among alternatives in the case of small samples. Estimation results indicated that the variables are cointegrated, in another word there is a long-run relationship among them. In order to test the quality of the model residuals of the model are tested for the serial correlation, heteroskedasticity, and normality. The model is checked for model misspecification and stability. The results of all abovementioned tests are found to be adequate. The highest impact on pollution among the variables belongs to urbanization which is found to be positive and statistically significant. Energy consumption also has a positive and statistically significant impact on emission. The results also confirm that sustainable development can be reached only keeping the balance among environmental, social and economic factors. Findings of the study may be useful in making appropriate decisions in the fields of diminishing atmospheric pollution from automobile transport caused by urbanization related issues. Very low labour productivity associated with labour intensity and a low economic performance of the industry is also characteristic. This article aims to identify whether those unfavourably evolving characteristics are common to the entire industry, or relate only to specific types of businesses and if they differ significantly among these companies. The existence of companies with similar characteristics will be verified based on cluster analysis which will define the key players on the Czech market with bakery and confectionery products. The results show that there were statistically significant differences in most of the evaluated indicators among the companies producing bakery when we classify the companies according to their size, ownership and use of grant funds. According to the cluster analysis, two key players that represent a threat for other groups of companies were identified on the market. In the risk there is mainly a group of micro and small enterprises with family ownership, whose economic position is weak, even if it represents the largest category. Therefore, more attention should be paid to this group of enterprises and focus on their development and access to finance for the development of their business. Using the operational viewpoint it then analyses the use of different financing model by large and medium-sized agricultural enterprises of Ukraine and the Czech Republic. Based on this analysis, there are identified the basic financing models in Czech and Ukrainian agriculture. The changes that occurred in the role of the debt financing model for enterprises in the sector in both countries are determined. The role of debt financing model for agricultural enterprises in Ukraine, in contrast to the Czech Republic, significantly increased in recent years. The causes of this phenomenon are associated with the deterioration of the development of the financial system in the country, which also projects into worsening conditions for self-financing. It is the sign of a systemic crisis in agriculture. But in the Czech Republic the role of equity financing model of agricultural enterprises increased on the background of improving conditions for self-financing and, consequently, increasing their independence from creditors. The volume of liabilities is distributed between the agricultural enterprises very unevenly (especially in Ukraine), and it reflects not only the existing differentiation of size of these enterprises, but different access to external funds in general. The results of the paper deny the findings of some researchers that in countries with a less developed economy and financial system, the role of debt financing model is lower due to a lack access to the loans. This demand model has been intended as a comprehensive input model for following charging infrastructure problem, where a spatial view of charging demand is usually needed. The model uses publicly available data, whose mutual incompatibility and information richness had to be overcome. The necessary data transformations are described and final data representation in the form of a mathematical graph allows the introduction of a point-defined (vertex-defined) charging demand model. Several drawbacks of the model are identified and their effect, as well as an application of whole model, is demonstrated on the large-scale numerical example. Sound demand model is a cornerstone for demand-related problems, such as general large-scale charging infrastructure problem, which is a common issue for countries that stand at the very beginning of the electric vehicle adoption process. Different dimensions of eco-innovation performance in individual EU member states were examined based on the Eco-Innovation Scoreboard. The country-specific data on selected competitiveness issues were obtained from the survey of business leaders carried out by the IMD World Competitiveness Center. The data on the Summary Innovation Index applied in the European Innovation Scoreboard were also used. The results of the cross-country analysis indicated that overall eco-innovation performance is strongly correlated with ethical practices, social responsibility of business leaders, health, safety and environmental concerns, as well as with corporate values. Moreover, it was found that the lack of pollution problems affecting economy, credibility of managers in society, environmental laws that do not hinder competitiveness of businesses, positive attitudes toward globalization in society, sustainable development being a priority in companies, and need for economic and social reforms are of particular importance in achieving better eco-innovation performance. We examined the effect of the type of public place, dog's age, sex and size, and human gender on off-leash dog walking. Observations of 1850 dogs and their owners were made in streets and parks in Brno (Czech Republic). Multiple logistic regression analysis showed no significant effect of human gender on the frequency of unleashed dogs in streets and parks. Off-leash dog walking was 2.8 times more likely in parks than in streets. Adult dogs were unleashed 1.9 times more likely than puppies in streets and parks. Larger dogs were unleashed 3.4 times less likely than smaller dogs in streets and 2.8 times more likely in parks. Male dogs were unleashed 1.7 times less likely than female dogs in streets. The dog's sex had no effect on off-leash dog walking in parks. The age and sex of dogs walked by men and women in public places were not significantly different. Larger dogs were walked by men 1.9 times more likely than by women. Results indicate that off-leash dog walking is affected by the type of public place and dog's age, sex and size. The subject of the research is CRM knowledge, CRM definition preference, customer contact level, and CRM results. The object of the research are the SMEs in the Moravian-Silesian Region. A method of comparison of selected characteristics was used. Starting point is a brief theoretical discussion based on selected studies, including a brief genesis of research. Recent primary research using questionnaire survey addressed 736 respondents. Comparing the results of the research confirmed the growth of CRM skills between 2010 and 2015. In 2015, the first place in the preferences of the definition of CRM won the option A, meaning the creation of lasting relationships with customers, which delivers long-term value to both parties to the relationship. The share of respondents who voted for it, was higher than in 2005. To compare the level of contact with customers, 4 ways of contacting them were selected. Adverse developments showed up for the customer records, higher was its randomness, which was not expected. More sophisticated ways of contacting customers confirmed a positive change, though not very significant. The most important result in 2005 and 2015 was the increase in the number of loyal customers, which contributes to the growth of profitability. In the end of the article, hypothesis about the relationship of the size of SMEs and CRM knowledge is confirmed by using logistic regression, and premises are verified about the comparison of results in various years. It turns out that the CRM can be beneficial for SMEs, so it should be implemented in its management system. Depending on the purpose of use, a high quality of data is a prerequisite. However, with increasing registry quality, costs also increase accordingly. Considering these time and cost factors, this work is an attempt to estimate the cost advantages of applying statistical tools to existing registry data, including quality evaluation. Results for quality analysis showed that there are unquestionable savings of millions in study costs by reducing the time horizon and saving on average € 523,126 for every reduced year. Replacing additionally the over 25 % missing data in some variables, data quality was immensely improved. To conclude, our findings showed dearly the importance of data quality and statistical input in avoiding biased conclusions due to incomplete data. Land inequality is one of the greatest impediments to Latin American societies for achieving sustainable development and economic growth. Many studies have demonstrated how an unequal land concentration affects the quality of democracy and social cohesion and inhibits economic growth. Land is the main and in many cases the only asset for millions of rural households in the region and Land tenure can mean the difference between subsistence and extreme poverty. The present work reviews the agrarian reform processes that were experienced in part of Latin America and examines the impacts of the subsequent neoliberal reforms on land tenure, land and capital concentration. Finally it focuses on the need of a new distribution of land in order to achieve higher levels of Socio-Economic equality an also meet the Sustainable Development Goals in the region. Besides the identification and analysis of those factors the paper offers possible suggestions on how to eliminate the delays. The research is based on data acquired over the period of time spanning from June to September in 2008-2014. Analysis of contingency tables, including Pearson's chi-squared test, has been used for data processing. The dependencies have been presented in graphical form by using correspondence maps. The proportion of delayed flights reaches approx. 50 % during nearly the entire monitored period only in September the proportion drops to 45 %. Flight delays are most frequently caused by delays of previous flights of the same plane. These previous delayed flights are the main culprit of long delays and the frequency of delay occurrence caused by this reason increases significantly during the day. Longer delays of flights appear also due to technical maintenance or aircraft defects. On the contrary other factors such as operational control and crew duty norms, air traffic control and airport limitations tend to cause rather shorter delays of flights with the air traffic control encountering more problems with coordination of flights in the early morning. The supply and service companies also manage to eliminate long delays.
