The study aims to examine to what extent the confirmation or rejection of Gibrat's law depends on the indicator of firm size. For measuring firm size we use three indicators: revenues, number of employees and total assets. The study uses data collected from the database Albertina CZ Gold Edition. Final dataset includes the data about more than 35,000 firms. The validity of Gibrat's law was tested with the help of linear regression model with first-order autoregressive process. Gibrat's law is rejected for all three indicators of firm size. Hence, the selected indicator of firm size is not proved to be important factor in verification of Gibrat's law validity. It is also found out that the small firms in profit industries (A-N according to CZ-NACE classification) grow faster than their larger counterparts in the Czech Republic. The problem is methodological, since it is difficult to find a proper proxy variable for weather in these models. The aim of this study is to investigate these issues. First, several possibilities for describing weather and its inclusion into stochastic frontier models are defined and discussed. Then, the explicit impact of weather on the technical efficiency of Czech farmers in different regions of the Czech Republic for the period 2004-2009 is analyzed and discussed. We use a proxy variable in the form of Iowa indices in the production analysis, in order to capture the impact of weather on technical efficiency. A stochastic frontier production function model in the form of the BC Model is defined, and weather enters the model as a variable explaining technical inefficiency. Primary research was made through manual activity scanning of the selected companies within social media. European company database Amadeus provided by Bureau van Dijk was used for the company selection in all three countries under the same search criteria. There were made two research sets of the companies in each country. One set covers top turnover product innovation oriented companies, second set avoided product innovation orientation search criteria and covers top companies by turnover in the respective country. Each particular sample set covered 74 to 100 companies.Activities of the selected companies on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn were manually scanned and particular metrics were scaled. Microsoft Excel was used for storing, statistical processing and graphic outputs of the research. Evaluated results show significant gaps in use of social media communication tools in Czech and Slovak companies comparing to Swiss benchmark. It has been also confirmed that social media communication activity in product innovation oriented companies is equal to other companies. The hypotheses were statistically tested and results confirmed. This study was triggered by the need to fill this vacuum. Survey data were collected from small-sized agribusiness firms in one of the SSA economic 'powerhouses', which is Nigeria. Employing a contemporary research technique, specifically the Consistent Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (denoted as PLSc), the study found that both brand promotion and brand image perception are instrumental for enhancing the organizational performance of small agribusinesses. In sum, the findings lend empirical support to the extant literature on brand promotion and brand image perception as precursors to the performance of firms regardless of a its size and business location. The implications of study, limitation and future research directions are further highlighted in the concluding section of the paper. Despite the protracted adverse situation which has afflicted the Slovak agricultural sector, a properly selected strategy may be the impetus behind the more progressive financial and economic results achieved by some agricultural holdings in comparison with their competitors who have experienced difficulties in adjusting to a dynamically evolving external environment. The main outcome of the submitted article is the assertion that agricultural holdings which devoted greater attention to strategic management have performed better in terms of economic results, especially business success based on Earnings before Taxes (EBIT), EBIT per one employee and per one hectare of agricultural land. The state-of-the-art ECM solution can help revolutionize document management and further automated business processes which can lead to better decisions and competitive advantage.Risk management can reduce project failure and that is why controlling risk in ECM implementation projects is considered to be a major contributor to project success. To manage software risk, the first step is to identify a list of ECM projects' risks. The present paper provides an overview of ECM implementation risks and contains findings from a small survey on experience of ECM implementation and risk in Czech enterprises. Risk of implementation in the public sector is discussed more deeply with case study examples. The questionnaire survey had 1,000 respondents - Czech households using a wood-based house. The survey was conducted separately in each region of the Czech Republic (40-100 questionnaires per region). The results were evaluated separately for each region and for the Czech Republic as a whole. Questionnaires consisted of four thematic groups of questions. This paper deals with processing and evaluation of results of the first group of questions. This group addresses characteristics of people using wood-based family houses. The results are evaluated for individual regions and for the whole Czech Republic. The evaluation covers seven characteristics of adults using the surveyed buildings: age of users, type of the buildings' ownership, educational attainment, sector of employment, profession, type of previous housing, and the size of municipality of the previous housing. The aim of the paper is to create profile of a "common user" of wood-based buildings. The results of the marketing research can be used to enhance competitiveness of companies in the woodworking and construction sector. Abstract: The main goal of this paper is to analyse whether the fiscal policy of the Czech Republic is anti-cyclical. This analysis is carried out through decomposing the government's balance into its cyclical and structural part. The first differences of the structural part are then put in relation to the output gap to determine whether the fiscal policy is pro- or anti-cyclical. Moreover, the correlation of government expenditures and revenues with the business cycle is also subject of our analysis. We also examine whether the fiscal rules which the Czech Republic would have to adhere to once it enters the euro area limit fiscal policy as a stabilizing mechanism. The paper concludes that the fiscal policy in the Czech Republic was for the most part rather of a random character than anti-cyclical during the examined period 1998-2013. This conclusion has two implications. Firstly, there is still room for improvement in fully and consistently utilizing fiscal policy to stabilise the Czech economy throughout economic cycles. Secondly, fiscal rules would not limit the Czech government to practice anti-cyclical fiscal policy if they have been implemented since 1998. In the treatise, we try to analyse visitors' satisfaction with the twenty four partial factors affecting total satisfaction. In the theoretical part of the paper, there are described methodological approaches to satisfaction measurement and presented various methods for satisfaction measurement with focus on the Satisfaction Pyramid method which is also used in the field part. Other presented methods are Customer Satisfaction Index, European Customer Satisfaction Model, Importance-Satisfaction Matrix, SERVQUAL Concept and KANO Model. Data have been collected all over the Czech Republic in years 2010 and 2011 twice every year. In the field part there are presented calculations of data and described total satisfaction, Satisfaction Index and partial satisfactions as well as level of satisfaction by tourist regions and correlations between partial satisfactions and total satisfaction which refers to importance of partial factors. Most important factors affecting total satisfaction are public transport, sport equipment, shopping possibilities, children attractions, orientation signage and free time programs. Despite the growth in agricultural trade, the gaps among various groups of countries and regions are becoming deeper. More and more countries loose its self-sufficiency or its netto export status and become dependent on imports. On the other hand, there exists another limited group of countries controlling most of the world exports. The aim of the article is to identify differences in changing values of agricultural trade among selected groups of countries. An accent is given primarily on an identification of differences relating to the real value of trading streams. These differences are defined not only in relation to the absolute value, but also to values recalculated per capita, active farmer or agricultural respective arable land. The results indicate extreme differences between developed and developing countries, just in favour of developed countries, which control an important share of the world agricultural trade. There is worth noting that despite the fact that developed countries affect essentially the character of the world agricultural market, there exist huge differences among them. They can be illustrated on the EU-15 and EU-13 countries. The differences relate not only to the value of agricultural trade but they can be observed when analysing the trade dynamics and productivity in relation to the production factors labour and land. Based on the literature review and scenario method, three scenarios are created (scenario of a positive development, scenario of a negative development, and explorative scenario), which are compared with the current state of Czech social policy and which evaluate the possible development of Czech social policy in the period up to 2050. For the implementation of scenarios, basic factors that influence the development of Czech social policy are identified. The complementary research methods are creative methods brainstorming and mind mapping, modelling, an intuitive method of estimating trends and decision-making method of scoring. The research shows that the Czech social policy system is threatened without accepting the strategic and conceptual social policy solutions. The probability of the scenario of negative development (critical scenario) of Czech social policy is more than ninety percent. This scenario is based on a deep economic crisis, the collapse of the entire system of social policy and great social unrest. The created scenarios are useful for actors of social policy which can reverse the negative development of Czech social policy. Abstract: The article introduces activities of local action groups (LAGs) in the Czech Republic. Attention is focused on the history of LAGs, evaluation of LAGs' activities in the 2007-2013 period and preparation for the 2014-2020 period. Although this period has already started, drawing on subsidies is still lagging behind. Evaluation of LAGs is based on a questionnaire survey among LAGs, information on grants from "Axis 4 - Leader" of Rural Development Programme for the period 2007-2013, content analysis of several Strategies of Community Led Local Development prepared for the current programming period and experience from the creation of several Strategies. The paper also identifies problems of the LAGs (not only in the Czech Republic) and suggestions how to avoid them in the recent programming period. The focus of the research on small and micro-enterprises stems from little attention paid to these enterprises and the undeniable importance of small and micro-enterprises for the economy. Primary research is based on the examination of a phenomenological paradigm, i.e. it focuses on understanding human behaviour on the basis of a reference framework for research participants. The main research method used in research is a comparative case study, which is one of few methods that allow research of this sensitive topic. Research will focus on the existence of a big bath in the company's ratio of profit and turnover as a determinant of a change in the company's approach to creative accounting. We compiled a summary of empirical models applied in coppices, high forests and fast-growing tree plantations, including coppice plantations. The collected growth models were analysed in order to find out whether they encompassed any of 13 key dendrometric and structural variables that we found as characteristic for coppices. There is no currently available complex growth model for coppices in Europe. Furthermore, many aspects of coppice growth process have been totally ignored or omitted in the most common modelling approaches so far. Within-stool competition, mortality and stool morphological variability are the most important parameters. However, some individual empirical submodels or their parts are potentially applicable for coppice growth and production modelling (e. g. diameter increment model or model of resprouting probability). As the issue of coppice management gains attention, the need for a decision support tool (e.g. coppice growth simulator) becomes more actual.
